We believe that -
1. A large part of the excesses are due to margin and leverage selling pressures and the bottom is now not too far away
2. Most long only fundamental funds are only switching as investors look to benefit from the excesses
3. In the very short term, the risk is now on the upside
4. For the medium term, the most likely scenario
- Markets will get into sideways consolidation for the next 3-6 months
- After which taking a cue from first 2 quarters earnings the market will start moving again
- At that time (Oct –Dec '06) FY08 numbers will also start becoming visible and help the market consolidate further
