Commodities and real estate will be hot: Marc Faber
Marc Faber says it's important to keep abreast of the latest news. Why? Because "you may have an epidemic as a result of a bird flu and the world’s population diminishes by 20%, it wouldn’t be very good for the real estate markets!" Not good for the seller but very good for the survivors!
Publisher of the Gloom, Boom And Doom Report, Marc Faber says that the market basically is a discounting mechanism. The stock goes up before the economy improves and goes down before it deteriorates. He told CNBC-TV18, "It is important to follow the news but it is more important to follow the reaction of the market to the news. So if the news is very good and the market does not act well, then may be something is wrong. I am very sensitive to those."
He stresses on the importance of reading because he thinks "it is important to be well informed, not just about financial and economical matters but you have to look at some other factors in the world, geo-political trends, health care and so on."
"For instance, theoretically, if you have an epidemic as a result of a bird flu and the world’s population diminished by 20%, it wouldn’t be very good for the real estate markets!"
